Islam as a word has a dual meaning, the first is to
submit one's will to the Creator, the second is peace which is derived
from this submission.
Submission means that a person accepts to live in
accordance with the manual set by his Creator. Islam provides the
framework for our conduct.
Consider a person who buys a car, and everyday,
polishes it but he never use it. You would say he misunderstood
the purpose of buying the car.
Similarly, we were not created merely to work,
increase sales, eat and listen to music. Through Islam we understand
the purpose of our life.
How could a man, from being illiterate, become the
most important author, in terms of Arabic literary merits? How could he
then pronounce truths of a scientific nature that no other human-being
could possibly have developed at that time, and without once making the
slightest error.
"I have studied him [Muhammed], he must be
called the saviour of humanity...
the faith of Muhammed would be acceptable to the
Europe of tomorrow as it is beginning to be acceptable to the Europe of
today."
