The extension respects the surrounding buildings.

The size of the canopy was determined by the sun angle.
Refurbish the existing victorian building and add extensions. The exterior must be in harmony with the surrounding buildings but the interior should reflect modern life.
The house will be quite large and cost in use should be considered.
Extensive new extensions that reflect traditional roofs and materials. A large canopy to offer shading to the west elevation to prevent overheating in the summer.
The external walls are made of recycled timber and filled with eco concrete offering both high thermal insulation and thermal mass so the house temperature will remain constant during the day.
Heat loss calculations have been prepared for each room to optimise the orientation.
